2019 WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

United for a planet without air pollution

To celebrate World Environment Day 2019, held every 5 June, the Iberdrola group organised a number of global initiatives aimed at promoting renewable energy, encouraging sustainable mobility and raising public awareness of the importance of reducing air pollution.

WE HAVE PREVENTED THE EMISSION OF 87 MILLION TONNES OF CO2

The Iberdrola group, a world leader in the fight against climate change and the leading renewable energy company, contributes to achieving cleaner air by driving the circular economy. Over the last five years, we have prevented the emission of 87 million tonnes of CO2 thanks to our commitment to decarbonisation and electrification. In addition, we are supporting research and promoting responsible consumption through environmental awareness-raising programs.

Aligned with our environmental commitment, we joined the celebration of the World Environment Day 2019, which was dedicated to air pollution. We presented the different initiatives taking place in each of the countries in which it operates.
