Historically, transporting wind turbine blades has not been easy due to the increasing size and weight of the blades and the fact that wind farms are often located in remote and inaccessible areas. To reduce the environmental impact of this transport, Blade Lifter technology was developed, which uses the inclination of the blades to facilitate their transport.

Solar photovoltaic energy is one of the most important and well-established renewable energy sources. For the past few years, floating solar PV has been gaining ground, which, according to the World Bank, could double installed capacity. At the moment, it has gone from 61 MW in 2015 to more than 3 GW in 2021, with 688 MW added in 2020 alone.

Decarbonisation means reducing to the minimum the greenhouse gas emissions – which mainly come from the use of fossil fuels – that are generated by any activity. Gradually decarbonising the economy is a global challenge, as these emissions heat the planet and worsen climate change.

Iberdrola Group, through its subsidiary in Spain, has built in Badajoz the Núñez de Balboa photovoltaic plant, which, with 500 MWp of installed capacity and the ability to supply clean energy to 250,000 homes, has become the largest in Europe.

Iberdrola invests €250 million in its third photovoltaic plant in Extremadura, the Ceclavín plant, which a total installed capacity of 328 megawatts.
