Iberdrola in Poland
An emerging market with a renewable vocation
Iberdrola International Poland
Iberdrola is committed to developing renewable energy in Poland, where it has photovoltaic solar technology, wind power and BESS battery storage to support the electrification of the region.
Poland is one of the new growth markets where Iberdrola has made a firm commitment to strengthening its presence. The country, which is undergoing a profound electrification process, represents a strategic opportunity for the development of renewable energy in the heart of Central Europe. Iberdrola operates in Poland through Iberdrola Polska, a subsidiary of Iberdrola Energía Internacional, and manages a growing portfolio of onshore wind facilities and battery energy storage projects.

Iberdrola is one of the world's largest energy companies and a leader in renewables, with the goal of electrifying demand through environmentally friendly energy sources. This is achieved by promoting local employment in rural areas, thereby contributing to job creation and sustainable recovery.
Among the Group's projects in Poland, one of the most notable is the recent approval (December 2025) of €44 million (PLN 186 million) in funding for the development of storage capacity in Poland. The Polish National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management has supported the construction of three battery energy storage systems (BESS), with a combined capacity of 160 MW / 640 MWh. These projects will be located at the BESS Pniewnik 1 (48 MW) and BESS Pniewnik 2 (32 MW) facilities under construction in the Mazovia region, and at the BESS Ząbkowice project (80 MW) in the Lower Silesia region.
