Iberdrola also participates in large technology funds that promote sustainability and innovative business models through investments in start-ups.

The Spanish company SubSea Mechatronics (SSM) has developed an underwater ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) called PIPEYE that will allow Iberdrola's team to inspect and clean the large pipelines of our power plants, under the highest quality and safety standards.

Iberdrola's startup programme - PERSEO - aims to facilitate the group's access to the technologies of the future while fostering the development of a global ecosystem of startups in the electricity sector with a focus on sustainability.

Improvements in efficiency and the drastic reduction in the cost of photovoltaic panels have allowed solar energy to become a fundamental part of the energy mix. However, it is necessary to have cleaning processes that prevent the accumulation of dirt and debris on the panels, ensuring their proper functioning and increasing their efficiency.

The Iberdrola group, through its subsidiary in the US, is participating in the development of macro-projects that will connect clean energy between different regions of the country. In this transformation, smart grids and storage solutions will play a key role in facilitating the penetration of renewables and the electrification of the economy.
