With PERSEO, Iberdrola group promotes different challenges addressed to emerging technology companies with the aim of finding innovative solutions that enable its operation to be improved and its environmental footprint to be minimised.

Iberdrola selects the web tools of the Spanish company SwitchFleet and the US subsidiary of Hitachi Energy as winners of the Start-up Challenge for Electric Vehicle Fleet Planning. A challenge launched in January 2021 by AVANGRID* - Iberdrola's subsidiary in the United States - through the PERSEO International Start-up Programme, as part of its commitment to the electrification of the transport sector.
Five companies have been selected in the search for sustainable structures that allow cost optimisation either because they are made of alternative materials to steel or because their ratio of steel per MW built is lower than that of conventional structures.

The technology of the Spanish company Tychetools has been selected by our PERSEO start-up programme, in collaboration with Schneider Electric and Microsoft, as the winner of the Start-up Challenge: Energy Efficiency in Data Centres.

Minsait has developed a solution that will detect the presence of fire in the vicinity of power lines and alert Iberdrola's Distribution Operation Centre. This, in turn, will allow early notification of the authorities and the Fire Brigade.
